OUR STORY
from a dream to reality...
I first dreamed of having an actual, physical shop where I could make and sell natural cosmetic and skin care products when I was a teenager. A few years have passed since then (the exact number is not important!) Since then I have gotten married, moved a few times and had eight beautifully unique children. They were the reason I began earnestly searching for healing items, both internal and external, to keep my kids healthy or cure whatever ails them. After finding many more DIY recipes than actual products, I have ended up with quite a binder full of recipes for everything from teas and tinctures to salves and balms. Looking at this binder, I remembered my dream of having a shop of natural products that others could benefit from as well. I also realized that, while "doing it yourself" is fun and invigorating, it is also time consuming. And time is one thing that everyone seems to be short of! So I decided to open a shop. Since this is the twenty-first century, my physical store turned out to be an internet shop, easy access for everyone!

What's in a name? Happy to tell you! I've always been fascinated by the lotus flower, how it is considered one of the most beautiful flowers but it only grows in the darkest, sometimes slimiest muck. When my second daughter was born, I thought of how I wanted both my girls to be little lotus flowers: beautiful blooms growing and prospering in an uncertain, often filthy world but never losing any of their beauty or purity. That's when I knew I had a name for my shop. My husband added the word 'essential' with the intention that it have a double meaning: most of my products are made with essential oils and they can be thought to be very necessary or "essential" to healthy skin or a healthy home. And so a name was born!

There you are, the whole story in a nutshell. I am Christina Harris and I am the owner of Essential Lotus Creations. I am also the sole manufacturer of each product. Each product is made with love, pride, and good intentions to help. I am also a stay at home mother and homeschool teacher to my six older children. My husband is Matt, our dog is Molly, and our cat is Perlie. That's my family and this is my dream becoming a reality. Thank you for taking part in this!
